television's settings.

Dxr3 keeps up with fast-paced graphics adapter technology by supporting Windows®
resolutions of up to 1600x1200 at 85Hz. Dxr3 works with your graphics adapter to eliminate
the need to adjust your PC monitor's resolution when watching movies on your PC.
Four Ways to outstanding audio
In addition to providing high-quality video, DVD also offers one of the best theater-like
audio environments. The PC-DVD Encore Dxr3 board can output DVD audio in Dolby Digital
(AC-3) 5.1 channels, DTS 5.1 channels, Dolby Surround, or stereo.
The soundtracks on most DVD movies and DVD-ROMs are produced in Dolby Digital (AC-3)
audio, a multi-channel encoding method that produces six discrete channels of audio. In
Dolby Digital mode, the audio content is passed directly from the Dxr3 card to a Dolby
Digital device such as Cambridge SoundWorks® DeskTop Theater DTT2500 Digital system or a
Dolby Digital (AC-3) amplifier or receiver, and then output through six independent
speakers for a full surround effect.
In DTS mode, the audio content is passed through your DTS Digital Out decoder or receiver
for the multi-channel, surround effect.
For an alternate surround sound effect, the Dolby Digital audio is downmixed to Dolby
Surround audio which in turn is sent from the Dxr3's Stereo Out connection to a Dolby
Surround amplifier or receiver.
For a two speaker system, the Dxr3 downmixes the Dolby Digital or DTS audio from six
channels to two stereo channels and sends the output to the Sound Blaster® card, which in
turn, plays the DVD audio through stereo speakers.
