New Features in PowerDVD 2.5
High Quality Video Playback
Most DVD players in the PC environment only supports the Letterbox mode for 16:9
widescreen titles where black stripes are added at the top and the bottom of the
display window in order to fit in the 4:3 full screen. PowerDVD features the Pan-Scan
mode that resizes the 16:9 widescreen video to fill in 4:3 full screen for maximum
enjoyment of DVD widescreen titles.
i-Power Service and the Desktop Portal Page
PowerDVD 2.5 features the propietary i-Power function that activates the PowerDVD
Desktop Portal Page for a direct connection to the Internet.
Dynamic Skin Technology
Multiple skin selections introduces users to the ultimate new experience in PC
entertainment. PowerDVD 2.5 provides multiple skin selections within the application
that allows users to choose their favorite color/style.
S/PDIF 5.1-channel Dolby Digital Output
The 5.1-channel or 2-channel Dolby Digital streams are sent through the S/PDIF and
external Dolby Digital decoder for high fidelity decoding and playback.
AC-3 Audio
The audio decoder of PowerDVD inputs 5.1-channel AC-3 audio which is decoded and
downmixed to two-channel stereo or full 5.1 channels offering 3D surround audio
quality.
Low CPU Consumption
Compared with other software DVD players, PowerDVD has the lowest CPU
consumption, which transforms to high playback performances and allows users to
perform other tasks on their PC while playing DVD titles.
Bookmark Function
The bookmark function saves one or more locations of the DVD movie allowing users to
playback bookmarked section(s) of a DVD title. PowerDVD offers the Browse and
Viewer mode to select bookmarked sections.
Chapter Function
Aside from a menu display of DVD title chapters, PowerDVD offers a comprehensive
Chapter display mode to help users select chapters visually.
Evolutionary Screen Capture Function
The screen capture function that saves to desktop, clipboard, wallpaper or BMP files
